The Hunter Valley Premium Meats Brand Story

Hunter Valley Premium Meats (HVPM) started its journey 14 years ago with Tim Perram’s passion of sourcing quality meat. Tim, who had been a cattle buyer and farmer for over 30 years wanted to share his vast knowledge of the meat industry with local restaurants, pubs, and clubs in the Hunter.

Tim started HVPM in Mayfield East by using some of his own cattle from his family farm in Glenelg, plus local lamb and pork. Later, he started selling at the Newcastle Farmers market for many years adding delivery to homes and businesses as well.

Over the years, HVPM his built great connections with likeminded farmers. Local restaurants and buyers across NSW, VIC and QLD. HVPM now supplies some of the best Hunter food establishments like Prince of Wales, Burwood Inn, Rascal, The Duke of Wellington and Rustica to name a few. HVPM also carries premium brands with the likes of Cape Grim and Bass Strait Beef, Pukara Estate Premium Lamb, Jack’s Creek Wagyu, Alexander Downs and Murray Valley Pork.

At Parcel of Plenty, all of our steaks are top of the range grass fed beef from Bass Strait or Cape Grim. This means there is never growth hormone or antibiotic used in our cattle, giving the meat a deep flavour characteristic with even fat marbling that delivers superb dishes every single time.

Many in the Hunter know Pukara Estate for their great olive and pantry products, but little are aware of their boutique lamb production. Their lamb graze under the olive trees freely and feed on dropped fruit, leaves and seed which gives a unique flavour to their meat. Almost all Parcel of Plenty lamb will be sourced from Pukara Estate. Bob recommends trying the lamb chops or cutlets in your next BBQ - you will taste the difference!
